Project Title: The partially stylised character brief (The Aviator)

Overview: This is a low poly female aviator character (6,996) created using Zbrush and 3Ds Max to create the initial high poly model and the textures. Xnormal was used to bake down the high poly information into the low poly model which was retopoligised in Zbrush and 3Ds Max. It was unwrapped with 3Ds Max on 1x 1024x1024 diffuse texture with implied lighting using Photoshop and baked information (AO, Normal channel and Cavity). Rendered in marmoset.

Conclusion:

This project on the whole was productive and fairly successful. However, like always I uncovered more weaknesses in my production, the main problem was how I went about this project. Created a high poly without a specific style in mind really tripped me up half way into the project and it is something I should have considered earlier in the project. The other major problem was time management which had a knock on effect by the previous issue. I spent far too long on my high poly and noodling around with it. Next time I need to be more decisive during both my design and execution. On the upside my ability to create a base sculpt is dramatically more efficient than it was 3 months ago, if I can combined that with stronger decision making I believe I can produce a similar result 25% quicker next time.
